Our solutions
Renewable solutions for the energy transition
We shape a more sustainable future through the development and execution of projects that contribute to the decarbonisation of our environment. With a 360° vision, we specialise in renewable electricity and work holistically on energy infrastructure projects from initial design through to the financial structuring of assets.
With 10 GW project development of our portfolio in 12 countries, including UK, Solarig understands role in the community and country.
We are an international leader in the photovoltaic sector where we develop, build, and operate large solar installations of up to 850 MW. We carry out a broad range of activities and processes to ensure the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and safety.
Photovoltaic Solar
Energy
We develop projects that combine solar and wind energy generation in the same plant, making the evacuation infrastructures compatible. In this way, the efficiency of the installations is maximised by taking advantage of the complementary nature of renewable sources.
Hybridisation of solar and wind technology
We include battery energy storage systems (BESS) in our projects, which play a crucial role in the transition to a more sustainable energy system. Thanks to their use, we can easily integrate intermittent energy sources, which allows for better management of the supply. They also play a key role in reducing losses and act as back-up systems during generation outages.

Energy
storage
We develop private wire solutions that enable the direct supply of renewable energy from generation assets to end consumers through dedicated infrastructure, without relying on the public grid.

Biomethane solutions

Through Biorig, Solarig’s biomethane platform, we develop renewable gas solutions based on the valorisation of organic waste. These solutions form part of Solarig’s multi-technology approach, supporting decarbonisation and the transition towards a more sustainable energy system.
Committed with society
Solarig understands the importance of community and country. Our project development plans are built from the ground up, starting with an understanding of the clean energy needs and transition challenges facing communities across the UK, in both rural and urban areas, as well as the industries and employers that support them.
FAQS for solar energy and batteries
How is solar energy produced?
A photovoltaic (PV) plant is a large-scale solar power system designed to generate electricity by converting sunlight into electrical energy using photovoltaic cells. PV plants consist of many solar panels that capture sunlight and convert it into direct current (DC) electricity. Inverters then convert this DC electricity into alternating current (AC) for use on the grid.
Do PV plants require planning permission and with its their lifespan?
Yes, PV plants require planning permission. The process involves environmental assessments and consultations with local authorities to ensure compliance with regulations. PV plants typically have a lifespan of 40 years, with some maintenance required to ensure efficiency over their lifetime.
How does a battery work?
Solar storage batteries are devices that store excess electricity generated by solar panels for use when the sun is not shining or during peak demand times. Batteries store the surplus electricity generated by solar panels. This stored energy can be used later, providing a continuous power supply even when solar panels are not producing electricity.
Is the weather in the UK favourable for the development of solar energy?
Yes, despite its cloudy weather, the UK receives enough daylight to make PV plants viable and efficient.
What is the status of renewable energy in the UK?
Total renewable energy capacity in the UK has grown by +6% to 16 GW by 2023, according to the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), while wind power has grown by +5% to 30 GW . The UK is committed to reaching its Net Zero targets by 2050.
